The primary application of Aluminum Titanium Master Alloy is grain refinement in aluminum melt. When added to the melt, the titanium element undergoes a peritectic reaction with aluminum to form TiAl₃ compounds. These TiAl₃ particles have a crystal structure matching the aluminum lattice, which can serve as the core of heterogeneous nucleation. This process significantly increases the nucleation rate and refines the grain structure of aluminum after solidification. It is suitable for all types of aluminum alloy processing that require grain refinement, including casting, rolling, and extrusion processes.
